Tom came to us a while ago with his 1974 Satellite wagon with the vision of the ultimate sleeper car. This car has seen its days and wasn’t in great shape and didn’t run, so we started out by tuning up the engine with a new ignition, oil, gas, filters, a few wires where needed, and a carb clean eventually got this girl running. After that we had to prepare for some heavy restoration, we took out the windows to keep them safe while we worked and cleaned out the interior so we could see exactly what were working with. During our initial inspection we discovered that the rear passenger door did not open so following our initial prep that was our first task. Matthew ended up spending an entire day just on this one door, so he moved toward a few power tools to get the job done. A bit of work with an air chisel and the door came right off. This wagon is going to need a fair bit of body work but its nothing we haven’t done before.
Check out our new video talking a little bit about this build!
This car has some great patina that we will keep in the finished build
